PeerMetals provides a direct messaging system to facilitate secure and transparent communication between sellers and buyers. This feature is designed to streamline inquiries, negotiations, and resolution processes.

1. Key Features of Direct Messaging

• Secure Communication:

  • All messages are private and stored securely on the platform.

  • Buyers and sellers can only communicate through PeerMetals to ensure privacy, prevent scams, and to take advantage of the Buyer Protection Policy.

  • Conversations and transactions that take place outside of PeerMetals do not qualify for our Buyer Protection Policy, and are explicitly not allowed.

• Message History:

  • Easily access past conversations for reference.

  • Useful for tracking agreements, inquiries, or resolving disputes.

• Attachment Support:

  • Sellers and buyers can share images or documents directly within the chat (e.g., photos of items, receipts, or proof of shipment).

• Initiating a Conversation:

  • Buyers can message sellers, and vice versa by visiting the seller’s profile and pressing on “Message”. Alternatively, you can go to your profile drop down menu, and press on "Messages".

    

• Replying to Messages:

  • Seller will receive notifications for new messages in their dashboard and email.

  • Respond promptly to maintain trust and professionalism.

4. Best Practices for Sellers

• Be Professional:

  • Maintain a courteous tone in all communications.

  • Avoid sharing personal contact information to keep interactions secure.

• Provide Accurate Information:

  • Answer buyer questions thoroughly and honestly.

  • Share additional photos or details if requested.

• Respond Promptly:

  • Aim to reply within 1 hour, and no later than 24 hours to keep buyers engaged and satisfied.
