Description

Offered here is an authentic 1967 U.S. Special Mint Set, meticulously preserved in its original United States Mint packaging. Issued during a period of significant change and coin shortages from 1965 to 1967, the U.S. Mint produced these "Special Mint Sets" as an alternative to both traditional Proof Sets and standard Uncirculated Mint Sets. These sets feature five coins – a Lincoln Cent, Jefferson Nickel, Roosevelt Dime, Washington Quarter, and a Kennedy Half Dollar – each struck with a higher-quality finish than regular circulating coinage, though not quite the mirrored fields of a Proof.

This particular 1967 set holds historical significance as it represents a transitional era in U.S. coinage. While the cent is copper and the nickel, dime, and quarter are composed of copper-nickel clad, the Kennedy Half Dollar famously contains 40% silver, making it a desirable piece for both numismatists and those interested in fractional silver. Each coin retains its unique semi-prooflike surface, making this a wonderful addition for collectors seeking original government issues from a pivotal time in American coinage history.

☆☆☆ These coins are absolutely flawless, and I would be remiss, if I didn't tell you to send them in for grading... ☆☆☆ I Sent in a Set, CAN'T WAIT Until NGC sends them Back ! STAY TUNED, Hoping For ALl @MS70 🙏
