Description

2 Oktober 1927 Commemorative Porcelain German Medal

This is a 1927 Porcelain Medal with hand painted 24k Gold Gilding celebrating the 80th Birthday of Reich President Paul von Hindenburg. It is 46 mm in diameter.

Manufactured by Staatliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Meißen (Meissen) as evidenced by the "crossed swords" logo inscripted on the reverse under 1927.

Their logo is considered the "Oldest Luxury Mark in the World Still in Continuous Use".

The Crossed Swords indicate origin and trademark of the legendary Meissen Porcelain Manufactory.

The factory is in Meissen, Germany and has been in operation since 1710. They actually invented the first European Porcelain in 1709. The medals were made and given as Gifts of Honor.

The hand painted 24k gold gilding is in absolute perfect condition and is rarely seen this intact on Porcelain Medals of this age!

If and When you find these Porcelain Medals in this condition they go for up to $200!

You can own this 100 year old piece of history for $100- or a buck per year!
