Half Dollars celebrate a milestone in American history. Traditionally offered in circulating and uncirculated finishes in rolls, bags, and collector sets, for 2026 only, the design changes for the first time in over 60 years. The obverse features a striking close-up of the Statue of Liberty, her unwavering gaze fixed on the future. On the reverse, Liberty passes her torch to a new generation beneath James Madison’s timeless words: “Knowledge is the only guardian of true liberty.” In 2027, the Kennedy portrait returns.

In commemoration of the lives lost from the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, and February 26, 1993, the Mint is offering special-issue Enduring Liberty Half Dollar coins in rolls and bags with a privy mark of “9-11-01” encircled by the phrase “NEVER FORGET.”

The roll contains 20 circulating-quality coins that have never been released into circulation.

These coins were struck at the Philadelphia Mint.

Coins will be available to pre-order during a window opening September 10, 2026, and closing September 25, 2026, at 3 p.m. ET. Shipping is expected to begin December 3, 2026.
