Each 2 oz Ra Silver Round offered here represents the final release of the Egyptian Gods Series. The rounds are individually packaged in protective plastic flips or offered in multiples of 10 with an acrylic tube. Each of these rounds has an ultra-high-relief strike that creates impressive 3D visuals for the design elements while also creating depth to the field.
In Egyptian theology, Ra was considered the creator deity who emerged from the primordial waters of Nun to establish the world. He was said to have created himself, as well as the first gods and humans, fashioning mankind from his own tears. His role as creator led to his association with other prominent Egyptian deities, most notably forming the syncretic deity Amun-Ra during the New Kingdom period, which combined Ra’s solar aspects with Amun’s role as king of the gods.
On the obverse of 2 oz Ra Silver Rounds, you’ll find an iconic image of the deity Ra. As the sun god, Ra was believed to journey across the sky each day in his solar boat, bringing light and warmth to the world. This daily journey was central to Egyptian cosmology, with Ra battling the serpent Apophis, who represented chaos and darkness, ensuring the continuation of order and life itself.
The reverse side of 2 oz Ra Silver Rounds comes with a depiction of a pyramid in the background field. The foreground features a winged scarab beetle, while the bottom of the field includes hieroglyph-like text to indicate the weight, metal content, and purity of the piece
