Coin Description:
Up for sale is a beautiful, historic 1952 Canadian Silver 50-Cent Piece (Half Dollar). This coin marks an important piece of numismatic history, as 1952 was the final year of King George VI's reign before Queen Elizabeth II ascended to the throne.
Condition Details:
• Estimated Grade: Very Fine (VF-20 to VF-30) range.
• Obverse (Heads): Features the bare-headed portrait of King George VI facing left. The legendary lettering is crisp and completely clear of the sharp outer rim. The portrait displays honest, even circulation wear on the highest points of the hair above the ear and cheek, but retains fantastic overall detail.
• Reverse (Tails): Features the iconic Canadian Coat of Arms. The sections of the shield (including the English lions, Scottish lion, Irish harp, and French fleurs-de-lis) are highly distinct and sharply separated. The crown and supporting animals retain great background texture.
• Alignment: Features standard Canadian Medal Alignment (the reverse side is right-side up when flipped horizontally).
Coin Specifics:
• Country/Region of Manufacture: Canada
• Denomination: 50 Cents (Half Dollar)
• Year: 1952
• Circulated/Uncirculated: Circulated
• Composition: 80% Silver, 20% Copper
• Weight: 11.66 grams
