Historical Note

During World War II, nickel was needed for the war effort, leading the U.S. Mint to temporarily change the composition of the Jefferson Nickel. From 1942 through 1945, qualifying issues were struck with 35% silver and featured a large mint mark above Monticello, making them easily identifiable as wartime silver nickels.

Please Note: Photos represent the general type and condition of coins available. The exact 20 coins received will vary.
