1979-S Washington Quarter Type 1. PCGS PR68 DCAM

Presenting a great example of American numismatic artistry, this 1979-S Washington Quarter Type 1 (means the S is not clear struck like later coins of that year). This quarter has been meticulously graded by PCGS as PR68 DCAM. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, this proof coin embodies the high standards of quality and visual appeal sought by collectors. This particular specimen showcases an exceptional PR68 grade, indicating a nearly flawless coin with only very minor imperfections observable under magnification. The coveted Deep Cameo (DCAM) designation highlights the remarkable contrast between the coin's highly frosted devices and deeply mirrored, liquid-like fields, creating a stunning visual depth that truly makes this piece stand out. Its exceptional eye appeal makes it a desirable addition for any collector of modern U.S. proofs or Washington Quarters, offering a glimpse into a pivotal period of American coinage.
