1928 Philadelphia Peace Silver Dollar – Key Date –Very Fine (VF)-(Extremely Fine (XF) Condition
Coin Description:
A highly sought-after 1928 Peace Silver Dollar struck at the Philadelphia Mint.
With a remarkably low mintage of only 360,649 pieces, the 1928-P is the absolute key date of the entire circulating Peace Dollar series.
•This specimen features a strong strike and sharp details, Estimated in Very Fine (VF)- Extremely Fine (XF) condition.
•Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, this iconic piece is universally recognized as the absolute key date of the entire Peace Dollar series.
•Because it features the lowest mintage of any year or mint mark in the collection, it is a highly sought-after prize for any numismatist looking to complete their set.
•This specific coin has honest circulation wear with strong details, making it a fantastic, high-premium addition to your collection.
Design & Features:
•Obverse Details:
•Features the iconic profile of Lady Liberty facing left, wearing a radiant crown. The word "LIBERTY" arcs boldly across the top, and the national motto "IN GOD WE TRVST" is crisply struck across the lower field.
Condition Analysis:
• Surfaces: The fields remain relatively clean with typical minor contact marks for a lightly circulated coin. Natural, light gray toning is visible along the bottom rim, framing the sharp and undistorted 1928 date.
Reverse Details:
•Depicts a majestic American Bald Eagle perched on a mountain crag, clutching an olive branch, looking toward a rising sun. Inscribed with "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM" at the top, "ONE DOLLAR" across the center, and "PEACE" at the base.
• Mint Mark Verification: No Mint Mark. The area above the eagle's tail feathers and to the left of "ONE" is completely blank, verifying this as the rare Philadelphia Mint issue (not the more common San Francisco "S" mint).
Condition Analysis:
•The eagle's feathers display excellent definition, with only minor flattening on the topmost wing highlights. The rays of the rising sun are fully distinct and unbroken.
• Surfaces: Shows excellent eye appeal with a clean reverse field and minimal distracting blemishes.
