Allowed Items on PeerMetals

PeerMetals is a dedicated marketplace for buying and selling precious metals and numismatic items. To ensure the integrity and focus of our platform, only certain items are permitted for listing. Below is a detailed overview of what can and cannot be sold on PeerMetals.


1. Permitted Categories

  • Precious Metals:

    • Gold, silver, platinum, palladium and copper items, including:

      • Bullion coins, bars, and rounds.

      • Scrap precious metals with clearly defined purity and weight.

  • Numismatic Items:

    • Collectible coins, including graded and ungraded coins.

    • Historic currency or coinage.

    • Collectable or historic currency.

    • Base metal coins with collectible value.

  • Jewelry and Accessories:

    • Jewelry made from precious metals, provided the purity and weight are clearly stated.

    • Jewelry with its value primarily derived by the precious metals content.

    • Accessories with significant precious metal content, such as belt buckles or pins.


2. Prohibited Items

  • Counterfeit or Fraudulent Items:

    • Items misrepresented as genuine or those attempting to deceive buyers.

  • Non Metal or Numismatic Items:

    • Items not primarily composed of or directly related to precious metals or numismatics. This includes general collectibles, unrelated memorabilia, or non-metal goods that fall outside the scope of our marketplace.

  • Restricted Goods:

    • Weapons or ammunition

    • Items containing ivory or other materials restricted under international or local regulations.

    • Any items prohibited by law.


3. Guidelines for Listing Allowed Items

  • Accurate Descriptions: Provide detailed, truthful descriptions of the item, including purity, weight, and condition.

  • Clear Photos: Use high-quality images that accurately represent the item being sold.

  • Comply with Local Laws: Ensure all items comply with local, state, and federal regulations in your area.


4. Reporting and Enforcement

  • Flagging Prohibited Items: If you encounter a listing that violates these guidelines, use the "Report" button to notify PeerMetals moderation team.

  • Review and Removal: PeerMetals will review reported listings and remove any that are non-compliant.

  • Penalties for Violations: Sellers who repeatedly list prohibited items may face account suspension or permanent bans.
