Community Guidelines

Welcome to PeerMetals! We’re more than just a marketplace—we’re a community built on trust, transparency, and respect.

We designed these Community Guidelines to protect buyers, sellers, and collectors alike. They are based on platform-specific risks, community feedback, and our deep focus on safety and integrity.

By using PeerMetals, you agree to follow these Guidelines, along with our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and all other platform policies.


Our Commitment to Enforcement

We take proportional action depending on the severity of the violation and prior user history:

  • First Violations: Warnings and education (where appropriate).

  • Repeated or Serious Violations: Account restrictions, listing removals, fee penalties, suspensions, or permanent bans.

  • Severe Cases: Immediate account termination or legal escalation.


1. Seller Performance & Shipping

a. Shipping & Fulfillment

  • Ship all items within 3 business days unless otherwise noted in your listing (e.g., for custom-made or out of stock items).

  • Provide tracking information where applicable.

  • Clearly disclose any shipping delays or fulfillment issues to buyers upfront.

  • Contact PeerMetals’ customer support when you expect unusual delays in shipment.

b. Cancellations, Refunds & Disputes

  • Avoid excessive order cancellations. High cancellation or refund rates may result in penalties.

  • Respond to buyer messages and refund requests within 2 business days.

  • Follow PeerMetals' dispute process for resolving issues.

c. Accurate Listings

  • Your listing must include:

    • Clear, accurate photos of the actual item for sale.

    • Full item descriptions (including type, condition, certifications, etc.).

    • Any flaws, damage, or modifications.

  • Misleading listings will be removed.

d. Seller Ratings

  • Sellers with low or declining ratings may face account reviews or penalties.

  • PeerMetals encourages sellers to review buyer feedback and improve where needed.


2. Buyer Responsibilities

  • Buyers must pay in full and promptly.

  • Attempting chargebacks, false refund claims, or other fraudulent actions is strictly prohibited.

  • Buyers must engage with PeerMetals' dispute process before seeking external remedies.

  • Abuse of refund policies or harassment toward sellers will result in penalties.


3. Marketplace Integrity Policies

a. Intellectual Property & Counterfeits

  • No selling counterfeit, unauthorized, or IP-infringing items.

  • No use of copyrighted images or content without permission.

  • Violations may lead to account removal and legal action.

b. Legal & Regulatory Compliance

  • You are responsible for complying with all applicable local, state, federal, and international laws, including:

    • Precious metals trading and dealer laws.

    • Tax, import/export, and consumer protection laws.

    • KYC/AML regulations.

c. Gambling, Mystery Items, and Surprise Products

  • PeerMetals strictly prohibits gambling, raffles, lotteries, and mystery/surprise boxes.

  • Buyers must know exactly what they are purchasing.

d. Selling From Supported Regions

  • Sellers may only list from the United States.

  • Selling from restricted locations may lead to listing removals or account suspension.

e. Third-Party Grading Services

  • Sellers may not offer off-platform grading services (e.g., accepting payment before submitting items for grading).

  • Exceptions may apply for pre-approved, verified in-person events.


4. Prohibited Content & Conduct

a. Precious Metals, Bullion and Numismatics Only

  • Only items that are considered precious metals, bullion, numismatics, currency or other related accessories and items are allowed to be listed and sold on PeerMetals.

a. Hate, Harassment, and Safety

  • No hate speech, harassment, threats, or bullying.

  • No content that glorifies self-harm or promotes violence.

  • No sexually explicit or obscene content.

b. Privacy & Doxxing

  • Do not post or share others’ private or personal information without explicit permission.

c. Illegal, Harmful, or Violent Activity

  • No promotion or sale of illegal items or services.

  • No content encouraging violence, harm, or illegal activity.

d. Fraud & Scams

  • No scams, phishing attempts, or dishonest transactions.

  • Fake identities and falsified listings are strictly prohibited.

e. Misinformation

  • Do not spread intentionally misleading, false, or deceptive information regarding products, the platform, or other users.


5. Platform Use & Technical Compliance

a. Fee Avoidance

  • All transactions must go through PeerMetals’ checkout system.

  • Attempting to avoid fees or take transactions off-platform is prohibited.

b. Enforcement Evasion

  • Creating new accounts to bypass bans or penalties is strictly prohibited.

c. Account Responsibility

  • You are responsible for your account activity, even if others access your account.

  • Protect your account credentials and notify PeerMetals of unauthorized access immediately.

d. Usernames & Profile Content

  • Usernames and profiles must not contain:

    • Hate speech, harassment, or offensive content.

    • Impersonation of others.

    • Promotions for off-platform sales or banned activities.


6. Enforcement & Penalties

PeerMetals reserves the right to take any of the following actions for violations:

  • Warnings (for minor first offenses).

  • Listing Removals.

  • Temporary Account Restrictions.

  • Fee Penalties.

  • Permanent Account Bans.

  • Legal Action (where applicable).

Enforcement is based on severity, history of prior violations, and potential harm to the community.


7. Reporting Violations

If you encounter content or behavior that violates these Guidelines:

  • Use the Report button on listings, messages, or user profiles.

We take all reports seriously and review them confidentially.
