Scrap lots are bought purely for metal content, so the whole calculation is total silver weight against the live spot price.
Ask what the stated weight refers to — gross weight or pure metal content. Karat gold and sterling silver contain markedly less than their gross weight suggests.
14K is 58.3% gold and sterling is 92.5% silver, so multiply weight by purity before comparing a lot against spot.
Scrap normally trades below melt to cover refining. A lot priced at or above spot is worth questioning.

Sellers set their own prices. Many price directly off the live silver spot price with a fixed premium or discount, so their listings move with the market; others set a flat price. The live spot price used across the site is shown at the top of this page.
Yes, on any listing where the seller has enabled offers. Send your offer from the listing page and the seller can accept, decline or counter. Some sellers also run auctions, where you bid instead.
